"Kim, I want to send you this email of thanks for such an extraordinary job your company, AK Construction did on renovating/remodeling our 1907 home!  The house is on the Seattle Historic Register which brought unique  challenges to the job.  Leaking basements, protected rooms, rats, rodents, rotten windows, failing floors (remember the 2.5" drop in the living room, how did you ever fix that?) and tons of change orders once we got into the project.  Based on other projects you showed us, we new that your quality craftsmanship and finish work were second to none.  You proved once again that you have a great eye for detail and are a stickler for getting the job done right and to last.

It is easy for me to say , this was not a standard remodel or build.  It was a challenge from the beginning!  You met every challenge and exceeded our expectations.  One of your greatest qualities on the job was being able to figure our problem areas without bringing in a bevy of experts at a high expense.  Laurie even added that your patience with our decision making was fantastic.  Your experience and  imagination were awesome.  In our 32 years of marriage we have remodeled six homes extensively.  Your completion of our project was miles ahead of any experience we have ever had.  I can say unequivocally that his was our best experience ever.  In the other remodels we ended the project frustrated with the contractor, way over budget and way behind schedule.  In our last one, we even had to have a lawyer withhold funds so we could hire another contractor to finish it right.  We finished this job within 5% of the budget (impossible with all the change orders and challenges a 107 year home brings) and you were done four weeks early!!

We are 90% done with the remodel of a 60-year-old house in Bellevue and are 100% satisfied with the work completed by Kim Persons and Steve Elder of A.K.Construction.

We bought a cool, mid-century modern home and asked our architect for a referral to a contractor. She gave us Kim's name with her strong recommendation based on several projects she had done with him in the recent past. We called his references whom all praised his work and stated that they would only use him in the future.

The remodel has gone from the roof to the foundation. Every room and surface has been done over. Kim and Steve have been engineers, planners, and craftsmen and have given us smart and experienced advice on all phases of the project. They use the best subcontractors available.

The project has moved along as fast as possible with no delays. Tradesmen's trucks line the street and neighbors comment at the pace of the work. City inspections have gone without any problem.

We have built and remodeled homes in Seattle, Bellevue and Mercer Island and are keenly aware that many things can go wrong on a project. We have not experienced that with A.K.Construction. They have proven to be knowledgeable and experienced and have had our best interest in mind at all times. They will build our next house.
